New Digestive System Listings

The Social Security Administration has published new digestive system listings. The notice indicates that the new listings are expected to save substantial sums of money that would have been paid out to claimants. The rules are effective on December 18.

Well, this is going to do me in. I've had U.C. for almost 43 years. I was diagnosed at age 10 - I've been on SSDI for three years and had a CDR (short form) in June. I haven't heard back from SSA and now I know why. I guess with these new rules they want to kick me off.

I have a history of adhesions - my colon swells shut - I'm enema syringe dependant for bowel movements and have been for the last 24 years as my colon is nothing but scar tissue. Over the last four years I've had little control on when the water and shit streams down my legs - oh joy - but as far as I know I don't have SSA 'obstructions' in my colon.

I'm also suffering from the extra-intestinal parts of U.C. - with thinning corneas, skin lesions, no energy, severe joint pain and all the other goodies which go along with autoimmune disorders.

So, now I'm scared to death that the little comfort and security I have in a world where I have precious little - is at risk because of these new rules.

43 years of documented medical history is now going to work against me because to my knowlege I don't have the one thing SSDI is considering 'disabling' about this condition.

What is wrong with these people??!!!
