Social Security Subcommittee Hearing

The House Social Security Subcommittee has announced an oversight hearing to be held on April 28 to review Social Security's progress in implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) that gave the agency new funding to work down its backlogs and build a new national computer center and gave the agency new responsibilities in implementing a special $250 payment to most beneficiaries.

I'm a claimant.Progress? If the processing times are accurate, and a measure from odar's reciept to decision then something is wrong.I should've had my hearing and decision by now. There is little progress.Odar should use the money to distribute overtime to reduce the backlog. This including a half or more days on saturday(weekends).

Ironically in support of the ARRA payment we are being offered saturday overtime for the entire month of may. But no weekly overtime so instead of 2 extra hours per day 5 days a week, we will be offered only 8 hours on a saturday. So much for extra money for additional workload caused by the ARRA.
