Probably not an increase in threats... just an increase in reporting threats.....

Call me "crazy" but the increase likely coincides with the increase in mental health claims that have been denied...
Tea Partiers encourage hatred of government and government workers. Threatening government employees has become much more acceptable thanks to the TP.
Chalk it up to increasing frustration and desperation, coupled with the feeling that the parties/institutions most responsible for the present state of the economy have, to date, gotten off scott-free.
I don't care what the reasons are, the moment someone gets threatening, they're out of my office. Period. They're written up and posted to the alert system. Zero tolerance. I've had to fight a few battles over this, but have won them all. There's no excuse for people to act like animals in a public office. I won't sacrifice the safety of my employees and other members of the public to satisfy the "rights" of wackos.
So will USA Today report on this story with the same vigor they seem to have given towards all those other stories on how "overpaid" feds are?
