The Social Security and Oversight Subcommittees of the House Ways and Means Committee have scheduled a joint hearing for February 7 on representative payees for Social Security benefit.

After dealing with Congressional Inquiries about problems for number holders over the years I strongly doubt that any of them even know what a rep payee is.

My bet is that the regulation regarding the need for a rep payee and owning a gun brought about this hearing.
