How many billions in "free" hand outs do they consume each year because their children are born here and are citizens? I bet it's more than 13 billion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19246708.post-84454717500918855772013-05-09T13:16:07.388-04:002013-05-09T13:16:07.388-04:00Actually, we wouldn't need immigrants if we ha...Actually, we wouldn't need immigrants if we hadn't aborted 55,000,000 American citizens over the last 40 years.. Sounds like a liberal problem to me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19246708.post-73604029027780316372013-05-09T12:36:57.700-04:002013-05-09T12:36:57.700-04:00Anon 9:34 - You pose and interesting argument. Do you have facts to support your claim that big ag and big meat are the biggest force in preventing reform?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19246708.post-67321797851885833062013-05-09T09:34:03.960-04:002013-05-09T09:34:03.960-04:00Yep, yet another example from the proud history of...Yep, yet another example from the proud history of the United States of exploiting a small group for the benefit of everyone else.

Pop quiz: over the last decade or so, what force has done the most to stop any meaningful immigration reform?

Answer: the same huge multinational corps funding the coffers of very conservative candidates who outwardly expressed ire at immigrants!

Why? Because big ag and big meat (chiefly, but there are certainly other large industries involved) rely heavily on a cheap (instances of paying less than minimum wage, no benefits, etc. run rampant) supply of labor that is never-ending, so when they get busted for having illegal labor or when a worker causes a fuss, they can just be replaced with another willing illegal immigrant.

It is in the interest of big business and (now we are being shown by actuarial calculation) the rest of the country to keep these millions of folks off the books.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
