From WSET:
The Social Security office in Lynchburg [VA] was the target of a threat of violence on Friday. …
According to law enforcement at the scene, a message was left at the site, threatening to "come back and shoot you all up."
The office facade was also visibly egged, and something on the sidewalk outside the building had been set on fire. We haven't been able to confirm what exactly was lit on fire, but the wall has what appears to be smoke damage running up the side. …
The attacks on federal offices and employees are only going to get worse in these difficult economic times. The icing on the cake is that federal employees are not getting paid at this time.
ReplyDeleteBeating up a building will solve nothing. A little cleaning will take care of that. ANY form of abuse toward federal workers right now (or buildings) is childish and unproductive. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS repeatedly! Throw a fit! Overload their phones, emails and snail-mail boxes! Show them we're not complacent with words, not violence or vandalism. (be nice, threats will get you nowhere but jail). I wouldn't mind seeing Steven Miller with egg on his face though! (figuratively, of course).
ReplyDeleteThe office should have external security cameras, though judging from the poor quality of the ones installed at my old office I don't know if they would be any use in catching someone.
