The Social Security Administration and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the union that represents most of its employees, have finally signed a new agreement. This is now subject to ratification by union members.
The negotiation teams of labor and management for SSA should be ashamed that it took more than three years to reach a tentative agreement. It's ironic that this agreement came so close to public employee appreciation week. All the ills of the world are blamed on public employees. Why is congress implementing salary freezes, cutting staffs and blaming all agencies for the GSA debacle if it is appreciative of federal employees hard work. This is called giving lip service!
Yawn.
