    But many NOT all,white americans gave control of congress and the senate to the republicans.

    I wonder what issues were they concerned with? Immigration?

  3. This is the most successful old age and income security program created for an entire nation of people ever in the history of humankind. What's not to like about it unless you are either the minion of the superrich or the superrich in search of more riches. What's the alternative, the stock market? The National Church? Congress needs to face the fact that a democratic republic requires a touch of middle class welfare to remain stable - but that may be just the point of those who would like Social Security to end.
