Republican Senators Open To Social Security Cuts

     From The Hill:
Senators on Tuesday blocked an amendment from Senate Democrats aimed at protecting Social Security.
Senators voted 51-48 on a procedural motion, after Democrats tried to override the decision of Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), the chairman of the Budget Committee, to block the amendment.
The amendment would have required any proposal that cuts benefits or raises the Social Security retirement age meet a “point of order” requiring a supermajority of 60 votes for passage.

  1. Very disingenuous article. Saying Democrats are protectors and Republicans are not is the strawman argument. Let's get real here by taking it home. If there is only $100 in the bank, next deposit isn't until next pay period; and the home expenses are increasing but not the paycheck deposit, Mom says we need to cut back on some unnecessary stuff to sabe the money for next month's rent or risk eviction while Dad, oblivious to finances, says to just keep on spending it all, that Mom doesn't care or love the about the kids, family and home, but only Daddy really loves the kids to keep buying them candy and sweets and toys... Chuck, take your Democratic blinders off and stop drinking their coolaid.

  2. 6:17 am, Mom just had a light bulb go on in her head "I know honey, lets cut corporate welfare" and they all lived happily ever after. Fade to sunset. Yeah Mom!
