I received an e-mail notification that Social Security's Office of Inspector General (OIG) has issued an audit report on Social Security Administration Employees with Conduct Issues Who Received Monetary Award. The title sounds interesting. However, when I try to access the report, I get this message:
This Connection is UntrustedSee if you can get in.
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to oig.ssa.gov, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.
oig.ssa.gov uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
I was able to access the site and download the pdf report from an SSA computer using internet explorer
ReplyDeleteFunny about the discourteous conduct cases. A female friend at HQ had a new boss, a black women from the Chicago RO who wrote people up for "discourtesy" at the drop of a hat. (She was very non-discriminatory, wrote or threatened to write up white, male, black, female, it didn't matter.) Friend got written up for trivial reasons. Discourtesy was apparently not showing her the "respect" her grade 15 position required. Same woman had no issues with employees taking up a bosses day cash collection for her, nor with temporarily promoting women connected to her new church. She came to HQ from the field, guess treating employees as minions is pretty routine in Operations.
ReplyDeleteI was able to get the report (through Chrome) and uploaded it to my Dropbox account. You can download it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f35zjiivkl1apit/A-08-15-50020.pdf?dl=0
ReplyDeleteThere may be an error in the url address in your email. Sometimes, if a url starts with 'https://' when it should not (or vice versa), you can get an error message like that. I noticed that the link has 'http://oig.ssa.gov/audits-and...' in the middle of it. If there is a 's' as in 'https://oig.ssa.gov/audits-and...' you can get a message that sounds similar to the one you received. So, it could be something as simple as a misspelling.
I don't think it is malicious though because I was able to go to the website and download the report.
I had no problem using Firefox ESR 38.4.0.
