Granting exceptions |
Upon taking office, Donald Trump did what Republican Presidents have often done in the past, order a federal hiring freeze. This is based upon a general contempt for the work that federal agencies do and the federal employees who do the work.
These hiring freezes always start breaking down as it becomes apparent that voters will be discomfited by understaffed federal agencies. Social Security is usually one of the first agencies where it becomes apparent that a hiring freeze will cause visible problems.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is in charge of administering Trump's hiring freeze and can grant exceptions to it. OPM has now granted an exception to the hiring freeze to allow Social Security to hire Administrative Law Judges, hearing support staff and processing center employees. Unfortunately, there is no exception so far for field office staff.
Never hire the people that actually do something all day.
ReplyDeleteField Offices are 1st line of defense but too corrupted and prejudice in so many ways. It's runs from the respective Area and Regional Offices by groups of lifetime of closet bureaucratic racists of all types. Many of whom may only like no one except their family members? Welcome to SSA Field Operations!! Hint, their leader is now the current Acting Commissioner.

ReplyDeleteSweeping generalizations much?
My only question is why OPM's seal is an eagle wearing a monocle.
ReplyDelete11:12 you know nothing! As a former CR I couldn't even have told you who was in the area or regional offices let alone what they wanted or any secret agenda. 100%BS
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are the Former...Drain the swamp of old dinosaurs!!!!
ReplyDeleteArrogance begets ignorance!!
ReplyDelete940 I left on my own accord, sounds like you got fired for being incompetent.
ReplyDeleteHow much additional time does it take to approve and release the representative's fee once the claimant's benefits are determined?
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when we got our fee at about the same time the claimant got their benefits but that is not currently the case. I would appreciate it if some insider could shed some light on this.
@12:00
ReplyDeleteNot an insider, but if I could rephrase the question:
How much time does it take to approve and release a representative's fee under the fee agreement process?
If you are asking about under the fee petition process...that is a can of worms which could be delayed by any number of variables.
If everything is coded right and SSA isn't missing w/c information or windfall offset is involved, the fee should be released with the claimants retro. Fee petition processes can take awhile and are at very least 60 days or more.
ReplyDeleteFor the one on top who left on his/her own accord, Yippie doo!!! Do you want candies as a reward !! Typical government employees at SSA- lazy, arrogant and prejudice! It sounds like an agency filled with bigotry and hate...what a pity!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing good of any kind of expectation could come out of this race card argument when some of the Regional Commissioners and their HR leadership are branded as bigots. However, thriving harder to provide true equality is still their ultimate responsibility as heads of organization. If there's smoke, there's fire!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear about hiring freeze. It is necessary because it is time to root out closet haters on both sides of the racial spectrum and make this all-around-good purposes agency GREAT again!!
