This was obtained from Social Security by the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR) and published in their newsletter (which is not available online to the public). It concerns the processing of requests for hearing by the agency's Office of Hearings Operations.

It's conceivable that pending drops under 600k this fiscal year, which would be incredible (not an incredible job or anything, just remarkable that it could get that low). Pending is as low as it's been in a while per ALJ. Perhaps SSA can allocate funds for the field offices now and away from OHO since the hearing load is currently more than manageable.
