From WESH:
Long lines were reported at the Orlando Social Security Office Wednesday.
One woman told WESH 2 she arrived at 6 a.m. ahead of the office opening at 9 a.m. As of 11:30 a.m., she was still waiting and it was her second day in line. She said she and her dad came yesterday morning at 7a.m. and was home because the lines were too long.
AdvertisementAnother woman said she came because the office misspelled her daughter’s name and they told her to come in person. ...
There's a similar piece on another local station in Orlando.
This really needs to go on national news. I haven't read anything on mainstream media that was any significance to these line problems. Once it hits a big network, I think it would change (somehow)... they need quit glamorizing mass killings on national news, and start talking about the problems this country is facing. Like the ridiculous lines at SSA, the poor customer service on the phones, and the overworked, burnt out employees (we love you SSA employees! The majority of you are doing the best you can!), and terrible leadership.

This has been going on for decades at the card centers in New York City. Yes everyone knows about it and nobody cares. You can put it on the news all you want but it won't change anything. If you want real substantial change you'll provide a proper budget to the administration, until that happens it's going to be standard operational procedure. I mean you can't make someone order a replacement card online if they really don't want to.
