2.5% COLA

      The Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) effective for 2025 is 2.5%.

  1. It is what it is but it should be more like 6%. Home prices, auto's and insurance are up more than that.

    1. How many Social Security recipients are going to buy a new house or car? The federal government is kicking the can down the road since they are not addressing the trust fund solvency issue.

    2. I gotta agree with 7:08. The extra $20 in my check isn't gonna cover a car, insurance or a house! A gallon of milk and a carton of eggs maybe.

    3. @7:08: I suppose if you mischaracterize the argument, it doesn’t seem very compelling. But I‘d gamble about 100% of social security recipients want housing and transportation, and the cost of both has risen FAR more than 2.5% per year in recent years, thanks largely to greedy developers and greedy single family homeowners who try to justify their greed (and often naked racism) by whining about how building new homes will change their neighborhood‘s character. (Remember hearing the same arguments about desegregation? I do)
