I must agree with Charles... fruitcake is under-rated. I love it too. I don't actively go seeking them out though, but when one is around, it's usually all mine! That's the great part about fruitcake! ❤️
Those who shun fruitcake have likely had the bad commercial stuff or something from a church bake sale. I make a great one with chocolate pound cake base, mixed dried fruit (not the grainy candied stuff), nuts, and as much booze as I can get to soak into it. I'm with Charles on this one, as long as it's the right fruitcake.
