  1. I watched the Magnificent Seven. I was not interested in a 🤡 show.

  2. I watched the Peoples State of the Union with MeidasTouch. It beat out FoxNews.

  3. I didn’t watch it but I’m wondering if the Trump Epstein files were mentioned.

  4. TCM broadcast the orginal Gaslight. Seemed a fitting alternative.

  5. I wish I hadn't. And, no, the Trump Epstein files were not mentioned.

  6. FACT FOCUS: A look at Trump's false and misleading claims in his State of the Union speech (https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-trump-state-of-union-87b184f7a38e65fa97d27c05ba2497fa)

  7. Nothing in that speech would be based in truth or reality.

Plus I quit watching years ago. The clapping is annoying. I usually just read the transcript in less than 5 minutes.

But I won’t even give him those 5-minutes either.

His administration has ruined the pride of public service. Now we are just slaves being run into the ground and treated with chaos. Stuck with no meaningful way out because he killed the economy and jobs as well.

  9. Was outstanding. Dems couldn’t stand for saying citizens get more rights than illegals. Reminded me of why I voted Trump!

    1. [Dems couldn’t stand for saying citizens get more rights than illegals]

This absolutely has to be ragebait. Name the “rights” that “illegals” get that citizens don’t.

    2. Trump said it was the primary duty of the government to protect American lives, not illegal aliens. Democrats wouldn't stand up to support that idea.

    3. Except Americans are being killed in the streets and can’t afford groceries. Hmm.

  11. During the State of the Union…

Trump vows, ‘We will always protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid,’ but his signature tax cuts shortened their life span.

    1. Funny how all the presidents before him don’t get blamed, congress current and past doesnt get blamed….. making up narratives in your mind is funny to watch just so you can keep rooting for your home team…..even though democrats are now communist.

    2. I’m an independent voter so I don’t have a “home” team.

  12. The speech was nearly two hours long with no substantive issues being addressed. Four million less viewers than last year didn’t miss a thing.

  13. President Trump proposed a TSP-style retirement plan during the speech for workers without a 401(k). Here’s how it compares to the TSP and what it means for TSP investors.

I guess the stock market only goes up.

He added that the plan would “ensure that all Americans can profit from a rising stock market.”

    1. he's basically proposing auto-IRAs for Savers Match deposits--not a new idea and not something he can do without Congress. What he proposed will be good for the rare people who make under $25k per year ($41k for a married couple) AND who contribute to a retirement account BUT no longer have that account AND don't need SSI or Medicaid. Without an increase in resource limits for SSI, it will create some additional denials and overpayments.

    2. The 401k is the single biggest trickle up scam ever pushed upon the American people. It was also a means of artificially propping up our economy, hence the push to use GDP and the Dow as the primary indicators of our economic health, even though one represents how much labor is being extracted from us and the other represents how much cash is being extracted from us. Neither of which indicate economic health.

The 401k forced people to invest in the stock market which artificially inflated corporate valuations, which artificially inflated executive pay with no such guarantees for those forced to put their money in the stock market. When the stock market crashes (as it's prone to do) what happens to all of those losses? The CEO's keep their pay and the rest of us realize we could have just venmo'd them our cash and saved everybody's time.

The artificial initial bump in the Dow from the forced injection of capital into the stock market via the 401k is finally starting to taper off and since the market is driven by the need to display constant elevation, we need some new form of capital injection.... so viola!

(ps. this isn't a partisan issue, but it is what it is...)
