Yesterday's Senate hearing on the allegations of fraud at a hearing office in Kentucky has had surprisingly little resonance in the media. Of course, there have been some stories. Here are the links I've found:
The government shutdown-debt ceiling mess has crowded out a lot of news. Perhaps, the fact that the hearing ran ridiculously late contributed to the lack of coverage. Perhaps the fact that Tom Coburn, a highly partisan and idiosyncratic Senator, has been championing this led some to be skeptical. It certainly led me to be skeptical and, to a large extent, I remain skeptical until I can hear the other side, both from the parties alleged to have been illegally colluding and from the Social Security Administration which is alleged to have drug its feet in dealing with the allegations. Maybe the story hasn't drawn much attention simply because no one, not even Fox News, can tie it to the President.

ReplyDeleteMost SS disability claimants and their attorneys, sad to say, are dishonest. Phony doctors also assist the non-disabled to get on the rolls. Just like that phony NY doctor Liesnewski who helped dishonest rail road employees get disability from the RRB.

ReplyDelete2:38 and 2:39 should know, he has met most SSDI claimants and their attorneys, and found them all dishonest. Or he's met them all and found most of them dishonest. Either way it's compelling because he posted it twice.
ReplyDeleteThe crooked RR doctor in NY, Lesniewski, also was treating physician for many SS disability claimants on Long Island. SS should review all grants where Lesniewski was TP. I'm sure there's a lot of fraud to be uncovered.
ReplyDeleteSeems everyone focuses on others house instead of they're own never seeing the facts making assumptions you know nothing of why someone might be disabled, the real reason folks speak against others has more to do with jealousy than anything for if your focused on your own life none of others business would consume your thoughts.

He suggestd a way out of current impasse. Entitlement reform...in exchange for tax CUTS.
The prez PROMISED any "reform" of entitlements would ONLY occur in the context of a grand bargain with tax increases on the other side.
If we the people don't stand up and fight any cuts to SS with everything we have in us...we are fools.
SOCIAL SECURITY HAS A $2.8 TRILLION TRUST FUND. ANY CUTS WHILE THAT HUGE LOAN IS OUTSTANDING TO THE PUBLIC IS CONFISCATION OF THE TRUST FUND. CUTS WOULD BE
CRIMINAL.

ReplyDeleteI suspect that the reason it is getting little attention is because, as bad as it was, it was an isolated incident, involving one ODAR, doing outrageously bad things not likely to be duplicated elsewhwere. It is not clear to me what culpability Region has in all of this, however. If Region was aware of the goings on and did nothing to stop it, that's a bigger story.

ReplyDeletewe get emails so frequently from the bean counters at region (who monitor the status and outcomes of each claim seemingly every second of the day) when something sits in a particular status in CPMS a moment too long. that its regional HQ did not know of the goings on in WVa is an assertion so laughable i can't even entertain it.
ALJ statistics are available for anyone to see. just google "ALJ disposition data". Daugherty paid 1280 of 1284 claims in 2010 and 1501 of 1503 in 2011. Region knew something was out of wack.
