Covid Long Haulers And Social Security Disability
From an article in U.S. News & World Report concerning Covid-19 long haulers and disability benefits:
It's possible they would meet the requirements under other listings, however, I am pretty sure a lot of them would go in front of an ALJ, at this point. Hopefully that can change.
ReplyDeleteWhy would it change? The list for Long Covid is very nebulous. Below is the Long Covid list from the CDC:
ReplyDeleteTiredness or fatigue
Difficulty thinking or concentrating (sometimes referred to as “brain fog”)
Headache
Loss of smell or taste
Dizziness on standing
Fast-beating or pounding heart (also known as heart palpitations)
Chest pain
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Cough
Joint or muscle pain
Depression or anxiety
Fever
Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental activities
I call that any single Monday after the age of 50.
Actually, it sounds a lot like fibromyalgia... SSA will probably treat it similarly... Unless their is enough outcry.
