Moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
Looks like we are on our way to privatization !
Haha. Lee’s “transformative” changes didn’t even last 5 months. Lol. What a waste of taxpayer time and money that was.
Bunch of titles, nothing more, nothing less. They pretend to be kings over domains that no longer function or exist. All components below their level no longer function as their experienced staffs have been dispersed to the wind. Whats left have no knowlege or experience in what they are now supposed to do. A real internal s@$t show that is truly FUBAR. How sad!
Usually the deck chair are rearranged on Friday afternoon. We will see how long this reorg lasts.

lol, FOs are screwed. This dude wasn't even with SSA.
Frank is building what he knows with people he trusts. It look a little bit like the fiserv organization chart. You don't teach an old dog new tricks.
100% agree. We cannot duplicate the private sector into the government. Therefore, this is just a bunch of titles with nice SES grades!
FOs are in for a world of hurt. Essentially a private ad executive is now gonna run the FOs like a business. There will be no excuses for poor numbers or impossible goals. Forget union protections (they haven’t done anything for us in 6 months.) Just watch how operations makes more rash decisions without thinking through consequences because private sector is allowed to do that. In government you can’t. Just watch. I’m terrified.
And with the ‘ole dog we get the same outcome. Didn’t Frank’s company loose like 1/3 of its value under his leadership?
Does anyone know if the remaining regional Security and Integrity staff will be part of the new security organization?
Do regional offices still exist with this new structure?
@ 6:31pm, I do not think that the regional offices exist in the new structure. However, I was wondering if the remaining regional Security and Integrity staff would be assigned to the new HQ Security component?
Have heard No
@ 7:31, to clarify you heard that the remaining regional Security and Integrity staff will not be part of the new HQ Security Team? There are approximately 25 people remaining on the regional Security and Integrity staff nationwide?
I don't see why they wouldn't. A lot of effort went into consolidating down to four, and nothing in the press release indicates they're gone.
12 Apostles + Judas. Bisignano thinks he is Christ the Savior!
@ 7:47pm, I pray you are correct. All of the Security functions for the FOs, PSCs, DDS's and TSC's were controled by the regional Security teams. They would be an asset to the new HQ Security conponent
What are the changes coming to the ADOs and FOs? Consolidate? Eliminate?
What happens with the staff who chose not to reassign from RO? Do they get handed perm positions, regardless if they are they are best qualified?
Will SSAs union contracts be cancelled as well?
Stevie E, Chief of Digital Services, is still around like a cockroach that won't die?
What happens to the regional RO staff that put in for the reassignment but were assigned to the "Skinny RO" for the past 4 months?
When is the SSA leadership team going to take a stand?
More than 1,000 current and former employees across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) signed a letter on Wednesday morning calling for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s resignation.
Addressed to Kennedy and members of Congress, the signatories accused the secretary of endangering the health of Americans. Save HHS, the group behind the letter, told ABC News it's been sent to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Senate Committee on Finance and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce as well as Majority and Minority leadership.

Venture capitalist money guy, word salad tech guy.
Im terrified as well .. having taken a reassignment to what is now kmown as the FOSUs, the future doesn't look good !
They all resigned when Lee was in charge and even helped sue the agency. None of it mattered. SSA is hosed.
Wish our leadership would do the same .... but they are too scared. Dont agree with our decisions .. out the door you go !
They are going to be further reorganized into “hubs”
Significant changes also coming to OHO and OAO. OCALJ is being dissolved and broken into units to be absorbed elsewhere. ROs will be further reorganized into “hubs” and will not limited geographically. The AC will also be recognized, with consolidated branches. All this and more being done by 10/1, allegedly
Everyone is skipping over the most important part of the personnel memo. The fact that an executive is being assigned to oversee reforms to SSI. This is the beginning of the end. This administration would love to end or curtail SSI. All that money back to the treasury, no more free Medicaid decisions for states and reduced FO work burden. Once SSI is reduced, you can let SSI staff go. T2 is much more likely to be automated by AI. The reality is, CS jobs are more easy to replace with AI than the CSR job. Staff that’s left after ending SSI and automating T2 will move to CSR duties as FOs are consolidated into one per current district to reduce the footprint, and most if not all interactions will be done online. SSI “reform” is the first step.
...and AI will replace ALJs?
the moron that reorganized SSA and reassigned people should burn in hell. Training for the reassigned folks was 10% of the standard training. People paired with „mentors” across time zones and one person is supposed to babysit 6 people. People in lower grades are teaching gs14s! My unit is crippled. Can’t work because I have to tell others „scroll hereeeee” „click that…..” waste of taxpayers money and extreme inefficiency.
@ 9:29pm, Please explain how the RO will be reorganized into "hubs"? What does that entail?
Gutless leadership. This agency makes a difference in so many lives and the ostrich defense doesn’t work these days. It’s time to take a stand for the public who just happen to pay their salary.
Interesting. Doesn't seem to be a huge impact on OHO staff. I assume RO folks will stay out stationed and have specific functions for their "hub"
This. The "reform" effort was just tucked in there.
Not quite but its stock price did underperform significantly relative to the overall market, and the deficit is particularly stark relative to others in the tech and finance sectors. He did establish a reputation for stunning greed and heartless cruelty toward labor though. Probably why he was tapped to serve Hitler.. er Trump.
What more can be done to OAO, it’s literally bones at this point!
Yes. Punishes the poor and disabled, "states rights", saves money in staff and space, rid of the hardest workload. Don't sweep in the midterms and this is a real thing.
That wasn't in the press release! Who did they assign to SSI?
This "Executive Leadership Team" -- I wouldn't trust them to lead my cats to the litter box. That is, with the exception of K. Glenn who is perhaps the only one on this lisy with half an ounce of integrity and knowledgable in her field.
What about the experienced RO staffs that were disbanded and scattered? HQ can not handle the area security, programatic and facilities related issues from hundreds of miles away. My office has serious issues affecting the claimants and my own staff and there is no one handling the issues, just put the issue on a never handled list. I am certain no one is going to travel from Woodlawn to my office several hundred miles away to handle our building-related issues. Local specialized RO staff neeed to be reconstituted with as much of the experienced staffs, if they would ever want to return.
And those people will leave in two years once their salary protections are gone. They have openly said so. So you spent two years to retrain them and if they could help will be leaving at that exact time!
An AD in Area 4 CHI region was re assigned to RO. Make it all make sense. That person then has to be back filled and the dance continues!
We asked about that today at our fourth “re-alignment meeting” since February. The RO isn’t coming back. These new divisions, excuse me, chiefs, are going to be a hodgepodge of former staffs. The “heads” within have not really been announced yet. SSI is getting two executives looking at it now. So I can confirm what the earlier poster mentioned. Seems like a major step towards shrinking the FO via SSI changes and automation.
What is going to happen to the RO staff?
So I represent claimants and what is going to happen to all my fee petitions that are pending RCALJ approval if they do away with OHO regional offices? I personally don’t buy that as the RCALJs actually have statutorily defined functions.
You said you asked about it. What was the answer? What will those people be doing? Did you get an answer?
What about my facilities issues that were handled by local staffs? The lessor's are getting away with murder since they know no one is there to enforce things.
We asked about former staff who took reassignment, but not specifically about who is currently in the skinny ro structure. We were asking if any of our colleagues were coming back now that we are getting shuffled to a new “chief” and they said no. Even though we went from like 43 down to 11, then merged with two other divisions to get to 32, we are being split and the 11 are moving. The others are staying and we aren’t getting staff back from reassignment.
Insightful, thanks for replying. I would imagine the "skinny" folks will be utilized in some centralized way or repurposed, then, but I know you didn't ask that specifically.
@ 4:50PM, Are the members of your team there because they didn't take the reassignment? Some members of the "Skinny RO" took the reassignment but were asked to in the RO to assist.
I suspect that mandamus actions are about to become a major workload for your office.
Which means, it is only a matter of time before they get rid of her.
It all shows how much these people do not know how the agency functions. All positions have their own specialty and knowledge base. SSA employees are not all doing interchangeable jobs. Those involuntary reassigned had special skills and knowledge that were important to operations. Their jobs were highly specialized and no amount of hiring will be able to replace that expertise. SSA needs to rehire them and resume providing those important services. Restore the local specialists!
wondering what unresolved CAPRs/systems problem/performance reports look like right about now.. what a complete cluster -- we need a doover
Let’s get back to reality. These individuals are gone and no amount of money will bring them back. The current employees are on their own since the cavalry is not coming.
Most of us regret putting in for the reassignment. We only put in for the reassignment, because we were scared of being RIFed. Now, that the agency is not going to do RIFs. I feel depressed and very scared.
Rehire them? Nobody wants to get back on the Titanic.
anon 3:34, who are the two executives assigned to SSI?
So sad you are going through this. I retired early because of the way they were firing people for cause when there was none.
Agree on the importance of the Agency. Agree to disagree on "It's time to take a stand for the public". The American public caused this to happen. Please think about how you vote. As a worker from a disbanded component, we have had so much taken and destroyed this year. I still want to do right by the person in front of me but it is hard.
OAO won’t exist, it’s being split up
Sounds like DOGE created a hostile work environment in the spring. Is it time to hold the DOGE and the administration accountable by filing a lawsuit claiming federal workers were harmed by the hostile environment?
No General Counsel?
Hostile work environments are only unlawful if the hostility was motivated by unlawful discriminatory animus. Please retire the phrase from your personal vocabulary.
