U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) announced the Committee will convene for a hearing entitled, “Exploring Process Approaches for Addressing Social Security Solvency” on WednesdayAugust 5, at 10:00 AM.

Raise the cap and reduce the COLA…next issue. This hearing is a stunt in order the pretend that the SSA solvency issue is being addressed prior to the midterms.

As long as the GOP is running congress benefit cuts and raising the retirement age will be on the table.

Not saying this will be useful, but that is a more balanced list of witnesses than I am used to seeing lately.

The wheels are in motion for a 22% across the board cut.

Senator Tommy Tuberville, an Alabama Republican, on Thursday characterized Social Security as a "scam" and a "Ponzi scheme," using a speech on the Senate floor to advocate for allowing Americans to retain and independently invest a greater share of their retirement savings.
