The processing numbers will only get worse next year with the downsizing of federal agencies. The job is tough enough but not being respected by the boss and public becomes too much. Additional funding is needed but that’s not happening any time soon. Performance evaluations will increase as a way to have a smaller workforce but the problem is that these individuals will not be replaced.

Unless I am reading this table wrong, its worth noting that as the number of cases processed (combined awards/denials) have increased so have the average processing time. More work = longer delays. That's not a hard formula to understand.
