Social Security has posted an affidavit from Tiffany Flick in the case concerning DOGE access to agency databases. I don’t understand it. It seems to be saying that no names of living people have been intentionally added to the Death Master File. Maybe she’s hinting that Social Security didn’t do it; the Department of Commerce did it.

Tiffany Flick might have agreed to the affidavit with a possible one way ticket to El Salvador. Agreeing to anything under duress is not admissible.
Presumably the names of living individuals were added after she left the agency and she has no personal knowledge. I think her Affidavit is to establish the potential harm to living individuals listed as dead.
Tiffany hasn’t been with the agency for two months; I assume she’s talking about how SSA operated PRIOR TO this recent “Ineligible Master File” issue.
Her statement is about the way death inputs are supposed to work, the way the death data in the DMF is meant to be handled, and the havoc that happens to people when the process doesn’t work properly. She is contrasting that against what happened last week.
Tiffany confirming what we knew all along: the hard working employees of DOGE did nothing wrong and operated within ethical boundaries. Nothing to see here folks.
It seems clear she's describing the SSA baseline before DOGE came in -- what "business as usual" was like and that SSA behavior was disciplined and reputable. (points 1-11.) She's also declaring this abuse of the file is improper (point 12) and specifying the kinds of harm that can occur when people are erroneously declared deceased (points 13-15).
The prospective cuts come as the SSA has already had "ongoing issues" with its website, Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Ron Wyden, D-Ore., wrote in a letter dated April 13 to Social Security Administration acting Commissioner Leland Dudek.
"We are concerned these cuts will lead to further website and benefit disruptions, preventing tens of millions of Americans from accessing their hard-earned Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits," the senators wrote.
A Social Security Administration spokesperson acknowledged the agency had received the letter and will respond to the senators.
"There has not been a reduction in workforce. Rather, to improve the delivery of services, staff are being reassigned from regional offices to front-line help – allocating finite resources where they are most needed," White House spokesperson Elizabeth Huston said in an email to CNBC.
"President Trump will continue to always protect Social Security and there will be no disruptions to service," Huston said.
Looks like plaintiffs filed it as support for their argument, not SSA.
This declaration wasn't filed by SSA. Flick has signed multiple declarations for the plaintiffs on the case. The context of her statements in the latest affidavit suggest she is averring that use of the DMF as has been reported is wholly inappropriate at best, as the latest filing from the plaintiffs from April 11th was asking for this issue to be addressed at the hearing on April 15th.
Sorry buddy, building something is hard but destroying is easy. All I’ve seen/heard is destruction coming from DOGE
Thank you 10:30 pm for a succinct explanation. Ms. Flick is absolutely correct on what she presented as the way things are supposed to work, how data gets to SSA, what kind of data it is and how it's used and the restrictions on it. It's accurate as to what SSA set up and runs. It's accurate as to how being living but marked as deceased affects a person. How abuse of the DMF by DOGE can be quantified re: the impacts on those named people. Note that the organizations cutting off benefits outside the federal benefits space really should be contacting the individual before taking action. But they usually don't.
Exactly. Are people really unable to comprehend this?
She is saying the severe consequences of listing someone as deceased when they are not. In a previous post the gentleman that was dragged out of SSA that refused DOGE & White House from listing legal aliens as deceased would have drastic consequences. Remember, This could be done with anyone (citizens and non-citizens alike).
This is the new method of the Nazi gas chambers. Doge can identify you (Joe anyone) and list you as dead, then the Gestapo (ie FBI, CBP or whichever 3 letter agency) can arrest you and take you to El Salvador (or skip this part and just bury you in a hole 🕳️).
Paragraph 12 is the whole reason for the affidavit.
Um there most certainly has been a reduction in force.
Nothing screams hyperbole more than comparisons to Nazis.
@11:45: except when you’re dealing with people doing actual Nazi s***! And one of them gave f***ing Nazi salutes on broadcast television!
I get that you love Trump and his brand of fascism. But your adoration doesn’t make his behavior any less abhorrent.
This!
@ 11:445. Sure, the NAZI comparison is over-the-top but those SSA leaders who are "just following orders" will hopefully be Nuremberg-ed at a later date.
