Man Bites Dog Story

      From NBC Miami:

A security guard accused of attacking an elderly man at a Social Security office in Miami-Dade was arrested on Monday, police said.

Peter Vegliante was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and battery of a person 65 or older.

According to police, the 44-year-old Vegliante works for BTI Security, which is a contractor that provides services at federal buildings. …

Police said that surveillance video captured the moment when Vegliante placed the 86-year-old man in a headlock and then forced him to the ground.

The elderly man suffered injuries and it's not clear what sparked the incident.

The security guard was clearing the office in order to keep the wait time numbers at an “acceptable “ level.. two hours.

Slow news day

He was trained by ICE

Put him on the border. Reserve this treatment for loser ICE protesters and criminal illegals. SSA can’t even get security guarding right.

See what happens when you contract-out office services????

Disgusting. I am sure the elderly man was not a threat to the security guard. If so, they need better built security guards!

We had a security guard once years ago that was moved from our office because he instigated a verbal altercation for no reason with a customer. During the "conversation", he told her that she "needed to immediately get out of the office and, if she didn't like it, she was free to move back to Mexico". The lady in question was a natural born US citizen.

Of course, SSA allowed the security contractor to move him to another SSA office. He apparently got into even more trouble there and was eventually fired.

Some of SSA's guards are professional, and good at their jobs.

Many of them, though, would be hard put to competently ring up Happy Meals at McDonalds.

We had a few in my old office that I literally dread to think what would have happened if they had ever had reason to draw their weapon. They would undoubtedly have been more of a danger to themselves, employees, and the innocent public in the office than they would have been to a criminal perpetrator.

i.e. Barney Fifes with Glocks and batons......

FO security guards have been contracted for years I thought.

I like his last name... Almost vigilante.
