The knowledge that is leaving the agency is immeasurable. It takes years to know the job and nobody is coming back to this sinkhole. The public voted for this type of leadership and the taxpayers will pay the price in terms of services.

Does this makes sense? These employees were eventually going to leave but now the taxpayers have to buy them out. These retirees are laughing all the way to to the bank.

President Elon is doing a patriotic endeavor by cutting waste, fraud and abuse!

Wait…

Tesla, the most valuable automaker in the world valued at over $1 trillion, did not pay any federal income tax last year.

Tesla’s annual financial report, released this morning, shows the company enjoyed $2.3 billion of U.S. income in 2024 on which it reports precisely zero current federal income tax. Over the past three years, the Elon Musk-led company reports $10.8 billion of U.S. income on which its current federal tax was just $48 million. That comes to a three-year federal tax rate of just 0.4 percent – more than 50 times less than the statutory corporate tax rate of 21 percent.

Never mind!

DOGE is strictly cutting employees to reduce the size of government. He has not found fraud waste or abuse that was not already known and addressed. pay attention

The radical right has been scheming for years to eliminate the "administrative state" - and now they've finally got the chance to do it - shock and awe, they're going to flatten it like Dresden circa 1945.

Goal is to break the system. Frank, Marc and Michael to the rescue. Get Congress to change the special Treasury Bonds to be allowed to invested in Wall Street and Financial Institutions. That is roughly $2.8 Trillion!!!! of your dollars that will end up in risky investments. Watch how Trump got rid of the IGs across the government. Reduced oversight capabilities from CFPB. Appointed Michelle Bowman as Federal Reserve Vice-Chair for Supervision. Ms Bowman wants to relax oversight on Financial Institutions.. This is a coordinated effort by the .01% to steal all of us blind.

I am a higher than average claims approving ALJ. If on the fence I pay the claim. I planned to work till 62. I run hearings on time and get dispositions out as soon as I can. Right now all I have are three post hearing cases waiting for CEs which I hope will help me build a record so I can approve the claim.

I have been at this job for 10 years. Great job, I feel as if I am doing a ministry helping the claimants where I can.

My last day is next Thursday. I am taking early retirement and my pension is 1/4 of my salary after 25 yrs of Government service.

The Agency is a sinking ship. And with the personnel reductions it is going to be worse. I am leaving in hopes that if they do resort to layoff, a younger judge will be spared and can keep their job.

If this is making America great again looks like I want no part of it.

I’m a SSA Claims Specialist, front line worker. I was going to retire in May anyway. Instead , with the buyout I’m retiring a couple of months earlier , for 20k and a month of Administrative leave. How is this saving taxpayers money?

"Thinking" isn't DOGE's strong suit.

How dare you say SSA retirees are laughing their way to the bank. At heart, we are public servants doing the best we can for the American people and like the people we serve are faced with hard decisions about how to feed, shelter, and clothes our families, let alone obtain healthcare. We are faced with tough choices with little information and a lot of “news, commentaries, opinions, and criticisms.” Please don’t add to what I call the “swirl.” We are humans. Let us make the decisions we need to make for ourselves and our families without judgement. If there is a problem - attack the root cause, not what you observe to be the symptom. And finally, remember we still live in a democracy - it’s up to each of us to preserve it. Thank you
