Self Awareness In Advance Of The Bisignano Nomination Hearing

From a New York Times piece on the Bisignano nomination:

… Because of Mr. Dudek’s self-admitted bumpy tenure, he said he did not expect to last much longer.

“I can’t imagine the nominee would want to keep me after the way I’ve been doing things here,” Mr. Dudek said, adding that he had had no contact with Mr. Bisignano. …

Remember, the Senate Finance Committee hearing on the Bisignano is set to begin at 10:00 Eastern time today.  Watch it online.

I wouldn’t shed many tears for Dudek. The wingnutosphere always takes care of its foot soldiers.

This is all performative. Frank has been involved for weeks. Dudek is just the fall guy.

This is a bridge too far for this foot soldier. Leland Dudek has received so much bad press that it would be smart to start fresh. Then again this is the ultimate clown car and nothing surprises me these days.

This quote from the article is shocking:

"In another instance, the SSA briefly ended a contract that had allowed parents of newborn babies in Maine to sign their children up for an SSN...Mr. Dudek said that he ordered the move after watching Janet Mills, Maine's Democratic governor, clash with Mr. Trump at the White House..."I was ticked at the governor of Main for not being real cordial to the president", Mr. Dudek said in the interview."

Dudek weaponized the SSA to settle political scores. By his own admission, he imposed yet another hardship for Maine parents, forced field offices throughout the State of Maine to perform needless work, and dragged (yet again) the agency's reputation through the mud. Again, this was to settle a political score because a democratically-elected governor was not sufficiently obsequious to Donald Trump. A screw-up of this nature is unforgivable. He violated his oath of office. His actions are shameful and merit his immediate resignation.

It wouldn't be quite accurate to label the brief reign of acting Social Security Commissioner Leland Dudek an unmitigated disaster.

That's because, disastrous as it has been, there's one mitigating factor: Dudek's scorched-earth actions — and their apparent endorsement by others in the Trump administration — have awakened the program's beneficiaries to the threat they face from the administration.

“Unless you use a brute force in government, you get stalled out,” Mr. Dudek said.

I can’t believe he actually said this. Wow!

A little bird told me that Dudek sold his house in Hyattsville, Maryland earlier this month. I'm sure he expects a hefty payout for his "service." Dudek will never show his face in the agency again and get a cushy job somewhere in the Musk griftoverse. Assistant to the Regional Vice Manager at Tesla / Starlink / Boring Company, 4th Reich Division. For a few months at least, until he's deemed redundant and kicked to the curb.

Says the person [Dudek] who is incapable of building meaningful relationships and doing the hard work of building consensus because he’s a pompous prick.

Anonymous voices in the comments know nothing. Those of us who work daily with ACOSS Dudek know he is a hard worker and has done a terrific job. Unlike King or the other sanctimonious hacks who are now rightly in the unemployment lines, Frank will keep Leland on and have him continue his outstanding work.

If you work with him daily, tell him the field thinks he’s full of shit and every action he takes screams that he doesn’t understand the frontline problems.

Soon to be King Dudek, the ultimate meme lord

Thanks for your comments - Leland!

Marko? Gautier? Get back to work.

Anyone else watching the masterful performance of Frank Bisignano? Outrageously qualified. He will straighten out the field offices and telephone lines. Can get people answers in under two minutes and have historically low error rates.

Democrat Accuses Trump Social Security Nominee Of Lying Under Oath

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said Trump's nominee to head the Social Security Administration lied under oath at his confirmation hearing on Tuesday.

Wyden asked Frank Bisignano, Trump's nominee to be Social Security Commissioner, if he had been in touch with people at Social Security about DOGE and the changes DOGE affiliates were making at the agency.

"No, sir," Bisignano said.

Wyden immediately said Bisignano's denial was not true.

"The whistleblower statement says the nominee insisted on personally approving several key DOGE hires at the agency," Wyden said.

I dunno, 10:06 AM... Sounded like Bisignano said during his confirmation hearing that SSA had a "leadership" problem, not a "DOGE" problem. The only way he can keep Dudek now is if he puts him back on the assembly line.

I heard that as well. Frank threw LeeLee under the bus!

Wow. A “Leadership problem not a Doge problem” and “you have to have experience.” Haha. That’s the nicest way of saying “Leland is in way over his head and it shows.” Hahaha. One trump appointee tossing another under the bus. Leland, maybe you should step down or pause some of these decisions until after Franks confirmation. It’s clear he’s planning on rolling back the phone changes you just made, and who knows what else. Frank wants a focus group to determine how beneficiaries want to be served? Haha ever heard of the office of transformation? Lee you cut that too. Save the taxpayer some money and put a pause on things that are gonna be reversed.

Confirmation Hearing SSA Commissioner Frank BIsignano
Impression: Surprisingly inarticulate for an individual who has held senior corporate positions, limited knowledge of SSA functions and processes, spends a lot of time on the golf course drinking and for a billionaire, he has a lousy tailor.
Bisignano had no problem lying about his relationship with Mike Russo, the SSA CIO installed by DOGE.
Bisignano solution for SSA problems was to provide AI to staff and "it all about will".
Bisignano did not address the need for additional funding to implement the technological changes he proposed.
Bisignano sidestepped any questions of SSA staff which has been reduced by 10,000 over the last 10 years and is now facing more DOGE cuts in personnel.
Senator Wyden presented an impressive introduction, Senator Sanders followed up with pointed questions, the rest of the Democrats lost focus and just asked about their state Field offices. The Democrats need to hire Katie Porter as a consultant and as a group prepare the questions so all areas of concern are addressed. Republicans obsequiously lobbed softball questions.
Bisignano expressed a need for a "Group Conversation" to address SSA problems, let's hope that conversation is not just with DOGE.
Conclusion: Bisignano's mission is to complete the destruction of the SSA infrastructure then privatize SSA.

Frank talked a good game; let’s see if he follows through.

He reminded me of Joe Pesci’s character in Goodfellas. Straight up gangster.

He’s a damn lie. I personally heard a high level exec say he received a call from the nominee and this was before Ms. King walked off the job. So yes he’s been involved.
