Social Security Goes With Lexmark

From a press release:
Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK - News) announced today that it has been awarded a five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for the purchase of monochrome and color laser printers and multifunction products (MFPs) by the Social Security Administration (SSA). The estimated value of the BPA is expected to reach $127 million.

Now I understand why they are not hiring enough individuals. The SSA agency must have color laser printers. It all makes sense! Priorities!

It's to prepare for all the reports that will contain red ink in the near future.

The only place there are color lasers are probably in the central and regional offices.

The majority of the BPA covers monochrome lasers.

I have to say, the last batch of Lexmark lasers was overall a good one. It would have been better (and the printers would have lasted longer) if management didn't insist on using those cheap recycled printer cartridges to save money. They absolutely destroy the printers....

That is true about the cartridges, but management has to buy what it can afford from the budget money they are given.
