I Wonder Why Mick Mulvaney Thinks Trump Didn't Mean What He Said

     From The Hill:
President Trump scrapped potential reforms to Social Security and Medicare while preparing his first budget request, according to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. ...
“I laid to him the options that Mick Mulvaney would put on a piece of paper,” Mulvaney told CNBC in an interview that aired Tuesday. “And [Trump] looked at one and said, ‘What is that?’ And I said, ‘Well, that's a change to part of Social Security.’ He said, ‘No. No.’ He said, ‘I told people I wouldn't change that when I ran. And I'm not going to change that. Take that off the list.’ ”

At this point there seems to be no telling what Trump means about anything. I think the only thing we know for sure is that he will be playing a lot of golf.

Mick was probably banking Trump wouldn't read/understand anything put in front of him. P

Trumps no fool. He got his hair swept back on Ryan's fools errand on healthcare. I'm certain he still thinks a second term is possible at this point. He knows who made up those razor thin margins for him in the rust belt. Those people sure as hell didn't vote for Mitt Romney when they had the chance did they. Social security is a bridge way too far at this point.

Mulvaney's mistake was that he did not spend time trying to convince Trump that his proposed changes were good for America. Probably because Mulvaney has no clue about what he was actually proposing and therefore could not discuss them.
