The Social Security Administration office at the Rotunda in North Baltimore is scheduled to close next month, the latest in a recent string of field office closures decried by activists and lawmakers. ...
The owner of the Rotunda has been redeveloping the property with apartments and new retail. Tiggerman said the original Social Security space was “repurposed.”
The General Services Administration, which serves as Social Security’s real estate agency, was unable to find a suitable replacement space, Tiggemann said. ...

It helps to know what the Rotunda is... A mini shopping mall in the update Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore City, steps from the County line. ODAR/OHA was on the upper floors, off the mall/supermarket area, until about 20 years ago, when the hearing offices moved downtown to near Penn Station and the law school. I saw some good movies in the theater there in my law school days. If you adhere to Chris Rock's routine about SSA not putting offices in good neighborhoods... Roland Park and the Rotunda Mall never needed a field office to begin with.
