Social Security imposter calls are now the top phone scam in the U.S., making up nearly 10% of all consumer phone complaints registered in BeenVerified’s Spam Call Complaint Monitor. This is a problem. Many of my clients have received these calls and one has actually lost an SSI check behind this. The system for reporting through the OIG is too cumbersome to be practical.
@1:20 -- OIG recently updated it's reporting system to make a simpler approach for reporting these calls, while leaving in place the more complicated site for reporting more general fraud, waste, and abuse.
