Social Security's Appointed Representative Services (ARS), also known as ERE, that allows attorneys and others representing claimants to access their client's files went down yesterday and is still down this morning. I heard that there were some problems yesterday for Social Security employees but do not know whether they are still having problems. There's been no announcement from the agency about this outage.
Social Security should make an announcement about this sort of thing when it becomes extended as this episode has. You can pretend that there's no problem but people like me can't.

The issue with ERE has been resolved as of about 9:30 EDT this morning.

Brings up an interesting point, in recent months, we had a few submissions just disappear; did not show up in ERE's unexhibited or exhibited sections, just GONE. Local OHO said it was an issue with some system upgrade they were doing, but it's about as serious an issue I can imagine. Anyone else hear anything about this?
Maybe they should use the inflated user fee they charge reps to upgrade IT.

They’d have to raise it. They probably would like that idea.
That’s an understatement if I ever saw one, lol. Not only do they not communicate effectively with the public, they are just as bad internally.
