Lame post. SSA had literally nothing to do with this data leak. Staff are trying their best, even some of your past posts acknowledge the huge workload limited staff are dealing with. So why such sarcasm?
I don't think stealing Elon Musks identity would work well. If it would, someone would have certainly already done it. Hope he has a fine time with SSA on this! He can go to space, so waiting for 2 hours on the phone just to have it hang up shouldn't be that big of a feat for him. He can just call back for another 2 hours like we all do.

Anyway I've found that phone calls and interviews are ineffective ways to communicate at SSA. It is unrealistic to expect an SSA CS to instantly know the answer to all questions. SSAPOMS is voluminous.
It's far better to send fax or EMail to ask questions, as then the recipient has time to look up, research, and determine the correct answer.
Or, the person answering the phone could simply take down the information, state an intention to research the issue, promise to call back with the answer within a reasonable amount of time, and then actually follow through.
Unfortunately, the last one one of those always seems to end up being the hardest one for the agency to accomplish.
Why wouldn't Musk be in the celebrity file? Or whatever it may be called today? Meaning most employees couldn't see it without authorization so some poor TSC rep with a call from Elon likely wouldn't be able to do much for him.
Agreed. But most CRs would rather use that half hour to look up an answer and reply to clear 3 or 4 RSI claims or get a disability claim or two to DDS. Paying claimants trumps answering questions.
