I am wondering what the future is going to look like on disability claims in the short term. We are at the end of the bell curve of Boomers really, they are tailing down and reaching retirement. Gen X is much much much smaller, so they will have a very small impact on claims. It will be a bit before Millennials (who the early ones are now approaching 40) start filing for disability in larger numbers. They represent the next big wave, some numbers have them as a cohort being about the same as the Boomers or even larger.

Later generations are much more comfortable with online filings and processing and have much more tech mentality. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

My take is 1/3 or so of disability claims filed are technical denials and better than 40%of those that aren't technical denials are allowed.
