Gokhale Appointed To SSAB

The Social Security Advisory Board (SSAB) reports that Jagadeesh Gokhale has been appointed to the Board by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. He replaces Sylvester Schieber. Gokhale is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, a right wing think tank. He supported former President George W. Bush's plan to partially privatize Social Security.

What does "right wing think tank" even mean? Try libertarian think tank. It gives a much more full and accurate description. Now, if your point by the phrase was to merely use invective to display your liberal ideology, then the phrase was appropriate.

As opposed to left-wing think tank, which would be an oxymoron.

At the commentators:
Cato Institute is a staunch enemy of social welfare programs, as are right-wingers. I fail to see the problem with calling out the privately funded think-tank for what it is.

And on topic, I think this pretty much proves that the SSAB has no intention of being useful. If you want constructive criticism of SSA, look to the GAO.
