Considering the serious weather affect on the dc area, government should devote as much resources as needed to develop telework opportunities, considering electronic possibilities.
At the rate the snow is coming down and the wind is blowing, opening Thursday is unlikely. City has banned all but authorized vehicles from the streets of Baltimore. And the storm just sits off the New Jersey shore, pumping more and more moisture over the area.
I don't think it makes financial sense for SSA to buy thousands upon thousands of notebooks (and hire the support staff for those notebooks and conduct the training, etc.) when this kind of weather event is a once in a lifetime deal.

Since Monday is a holiday, might as well stay closed Thursday and Friday too.

Per OPM, closed tomorrow too (Thursday).

Fereral offices in DC also closed
What about DC and Balt ODARs? Where are you getting the info?
What is the SSA hotline phone number for closures?
Funny how snow matters more to hq than the field. Guess they are wimpy. Poor example.
Actually, I'm an attorney who has hearings scheduled and I need to notify my clients.
