Saul "Off-Boarded"

      From CNN Politics:

The Biden administration has worked to off-board the fired commissioner of the Social Security Administration who said he would report to work on Monday despite being terminated on Friday, an administration official said.

"As with any employment termination, the government has taken steps to off-board Andrew Saul as we would any other former employee," an administration official says.
Those steps should essentially prevent Saul, who was a holdover from President Donald Trump's administration and refused to resign when requested last week, from accessing the agency's systems after his termination. Saul previously told the Washington Post that he still planned to report to work on Monday by signing in remotely from his home in New York. ...

I'm not sold that terminating Saul was the right thing to do. But it was absurd, arrogant, and unprofessional that Saul threatened to sign in to work today.

Fight it in court if you want to, but don't try to access SSA systems after your employment has been terminated. This is not befitting a former SSA Commissioner and sets a terrible example for other SSA employees.

Next thing you know he's going to be claiming that the termination wasn't valid because there was fringe on the flag in the Oval Office, and something something about admiralty jurisdiction...

@ 3:09 Agree that it was ridiculous for Saul trying to report to work after being fired. Sounds like it was just bluster and hurt feelings.

I am not sure if there was absolute good cause for his removal. However, not sure Comey deserved to be fired under Trump. So karma.

Being given a six year term made Saul overbearing and egotistical at the start. I doubt he’d have taken those extremist actions his first year in office, if he thought he could be fired.

This is not how he wanted to end his career.

Should every appointment made by a President only be approved after the appointee signs an undated letter of resignation? After all, if that person refuses to resign after requested it just does not matter. The request is not really a request. Having that letter prepared in advance just makes everything neater and cleaner.
