Missed This Earlier — New Native Affairs Office

      From an October 4 press release:

Acting Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi announced that the Social Security Administration (SSA) established an Office of Native American Partnerships within the Office of the Commissioner.

This office will elevate and centralize efforts to administer comprehensive programs and policies related to American Indians and Alaska Natives. It will enhance the agency’s relationship with Tribes and serve as the primary point of contact on Tribal affairs for all stakeholders. …

Another job established for a gs15 or ses crony to send out occasional emails and attend a few meetings a year .

I am for the Office of Native Americans but wish they included other special populations as well (i.e. rural health, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders, lower socio-economic maternal health.)

Hailing from Alaska, a state with a VERY high number of some pretty awesome natives, this is great news!!! Thank you for sharing this! That being said, I sure hope it works as they plan it to. It would be a great service to the native population nationwide, for sure!
