Even some lawmakers within Mr. Macron’s own party, Renaissance, have expressed reservations the pension changes, and a few have gone so far as to suggest he should try to calm the country by setting aside the pension overhaul instead of forging ahead with it. ...

But they still are raising the age, and like here nobody has a way to stop them or a better idea of how to fix the problem.
Anyone else think this is just absolutely the most beautiful set up in the world? It is genius. This is how you actually make the population beg you to raise the tax. You do this. You get them riled up, you threaten benefits, you get them to protest. They win! Yeahhhhh! Then you tell them the age isnt going up but to pay for it not going up you are going to have to pay for it, right through the shorts, for the rest of you life and you kids life and the grandkids life. It is brilliant!

No you tell them the age doesn't go up and to pay for it we tax the rich. All good till there's no rich. All good AI gonna make you retire well before 62 anyway.
Re: 9:12 PM comment makes me laugh. Given the rise of the billionaire oligarchy over the past 40 years, I am willing to take the risk of taxing the rich a little more.
3/24/23 and the retirement age change is still in effect, more protest planned, number of things changed. 0
3/30/23 Still protesting, still nothing changed, and Macron said today that protests will not change the decision.

4/6/2023 Guess what!!!! The change in retirement age remains in effect. Nothing has changed the decision.
