Just When You Think Things Can’t Get Any More Absurd

      From The Hill:

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday announced the head of the Social Security Administration (SSA) would also serve as CEO of the IRS after the tax agency’s previous, Senate-confirmed leader was ousted.

Social Security Administration Commissioner Frank Bisignano will take on the additional role of CEO of the IRS, where he will oversee day-to-day operations. But Bessent will continue to serve as the acting IRS commissioner, giving him autonomy over the agency. …

This just proves how easy it is to run SSA! One or two google searches about the IRS, and Frank'll have that one in the bag, too. This man can do it all! Are there any vacancies over in NARA?

Good news he will spend less time destroying SSA…..we all know he won’t even spend five minutes as COSS now.

Frank is doing such a shitty job at SSA. Talk about failing upward. SMH

This is corruption and rewarding friends at its highest. There is no way a single person could do both jobs and produce anything worthwhile, especially with two of the most important agencies to the government. This is just a scheme to get double salary for friends.

I guess Pepe Le Pew wasn’t available.

@10:48. Does anyone out there know if he gets an even bigger tax break through the “official” channels by acting as the head of two agencies? I know the plutocrats only do it for “the breaks”

A month from now in an email: " I would like to introduce you to the new comissionner of SSA ".....". Unfortunately, the IRS position I have accepted consumes most of my time. Wishing you all well ! Peace out (after he destroyed the agency, and has lawsuits filed against him). On forward to destroying another agency !

Guess one paying job is not enough for the billionaire

I doubt he's getting a 2nd paycheck from this. And let's be honest, people like Frank are not doing this for a paycheck. The SSA (or any govt) paycheck is a joke compared to his private industry salary.

This is worst than you think. Frank will be working with the Treasury Secretary Bessent on how to change the OASI (Old-Age and Survivors Insurance) and the DI (Disability Insurance) Trust Fund Special-Issue Treasury Bonds to shift these funds to Wall Street. This is all part of Project 2025 to shrink and restructure these programs and move towards privatization. Folks this is what its all about to get their hands on your money.

I’m not sure that is even possible. There are laws saying you can’t do that.

When has that stopped them in this administration? Frank has had earlier meetings with Treasury, HHS, DoD (DoW) and VA about Trust Funds held by Treasury.

This is yeat another clever way of getting around Senate confirmation and the Federal Vacancies Reform Act that limits acting officials to 120 days.

They’re doing it for the millions they are saving in capital gains when they needed to divest all their stocks upon entering federal government.

Frank is confirmed and SSA has definitely had acting commissioners that were longer than 120 days and not confirmed or even intended to be confirmed.

Congrats to Frank! He has never shied away from a challenge. Be it as CEO of Fiserv or his leadership during 9/11. Leaders lead, and Frank is a leader.

Remember, SSA was made an independent agency to eliminate any political games or interference. How soon we forget.

On the managers' all call, Frank repeatedly referred to "the shareholders". He can't even bother to lie about his plans

A Real American Hero. Bisignano Is the Kindest, Bravest, Warmest, Most Wonderful Human Being I’ve Ever Known in My Life.

Nice to see Frankenstein get the opportunity to FUBAR the IRS as well!

Frank wasn't even on the call - that's a lie.

The Natural…

At the IRS, Bisignano will “sharpen our focus on collections, privacy, and customer service,” Bessent said in a statement.

“The IRS and SSA – two of the most public-facing and broadly impactful federal agencies – also share many of the same technological and customer service goals,” the Treasury Department said in a statement. “This makes Mr. Bisignano a natural choice for this role.”

Both the IRS and SSA are in trouble..

A Senate report released Monday says AI and automation could replace nearly 100 million jobs across various industries over the next decade.

@4:48: When was he confirmed for the IRS?
