It’s Time

John Larson is the ranking Democrat on the House Social Security Subcommittee, currently in line to become Chairman if Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives next year. He’s 77. According to a New York Times article some Democrats are asking whether it’s time for Larson to pass the torch to a new generation.

If Democrats win the House next year they will need to be confrontational on Social Security matters. Larson isn’t the right man for that job.

John Larson was never the confrontational type until it was too late. It’s time for Democrats to be more assertive in these difficult times. There is still a chance that Hakeem Jeffries can lead the House of Representatives early next year if more Republicans go the MJT route and bail out of the clown show. 🤡

John Larson would do well as Mr. Rogers but not as the leader of that oversees Social Security in Congress. The public demands checks on this current leadership that has a goal to privatize the agency especially with cryptocurrencies tanking.

Social Security is required by law to cut benefits by 22% across the board by 2033 or sooner unless Congress passes legislation to strengthen Social Security. This is not the time for weak leadership.

Honestly, we need younger people in government in general. Having 80 year olds running a country changing more-over to younger generations (as boomers slowly fade away), the newer generations are on a new track. Good or bad, is arguable, but they are here to stay. They're frustrated with politics from the 1950's. Times are changing, and at 77 years old, I do believe we need someone younger to take a look at social security. NO offense to anyone close to or over 77 tho! You're great!, we just need more younger people in gov't as the younger generations are now in greater supply. d;-)
