We are in the Golden Age with a COLA of 3.6 %. How is it that most federal employees get a COLA of 🍩?

Federal employees are employees, and like most employees they do not get a cost of living raise. Most people on SS are dependent on that income, especially for SSDI, and the progam was designed to keep up with inflation. If an employee wants more money they have options such as asking for a raise, getting another job, Etc. I wish i had options and was not dependent on SSDI.

Government employees cannot ask for raises

The COLA increase in those disabled is usually negligible unless one receives the max amount (or close to) of SSDI. Last year, I got a COLA that raised my income by $25. Obviously, I didn't see much of a difference. Even at 3.6% the raise is negligible considering the cost of living increase the past year or more.... just sayin'.

Federal employees have less rights and also make less money than their equivalents in the private sector. This is supposed to be offset with benefits and stability…both have been greatly diminished the past two years.

Comparing federal employees to private sector is ignorant.

Noe now. Lets all hush and listen to the smart man who’s demonstrated he doesn’t even understand the basic facts about the subject he’s running his mouth about!

And yeah, let’s just stop giving our government workers wage increases until we can’t hire any. That’ll make America a great nation again!

I'm surprised the Republicans haven't targeted the automatic SSA COLA, which also applies to federal retirees CSRS pension benefits. Many would likely prefer that be 0.00 COLA, frozen according to political whims ( like federal employees salary next year) .
