How Women Saved Social Security

From the Economix column in the New York Times:
One of the great advances of 20th century was increased life expectancy. This advance might have bankrupted Social Security, if it were not for women in the work force.

So we'd better come up with a 3rd gender, and get it into the workplace fast...

However, most of those women are now aging and look to collect Social Security benefits eventually. That should put the trust fund in danger of bankruptcy.
