Tough issue. I see the point of trying to get quality control with 1 agency providing translators. But I also get great translators from the so-called "mom and pops."
It's a little like VEs. I don't know of a VE agency so they are all just random. But in Southern California, we see the same VEs. But they now are spread out over all the ODARs instead of just sticking with a few like in the past.
Seems like SSA is trying to save a buck and not worry about losing good translators.
