Public Has Low Opinion Of Social Security Service

      From a press release:

Citizen satisfaction with U.S. federal government services declines sharply in 2021, down 2.6% to 63.4 on the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s (ACSI®) 100-point scale. This is the fourth consecutive annual decline in citizen satisfaction and marks an unprecedented run of negative movement in the index. Significantly, the federal government score is now at its lowest-ever recorded level. The results for this study are based on interviews with citizens who experienced a federal government service throughout 2021. ...

This is what happens when government operations are starved for operating funds.

So what's the answer? It's clearly not the workers faults. We can only work with what we are given.

By the way, it will continue to decline throughout 2022 as well.

The oldest scam in politics:
- Republicans hate government, believe it can't do anything right
- Republicans run for office, get government job with government salary
- Republicans underfund and make arbitrary restrictions on popular, well-working social programs
- Citizens get dissatisfied with government services
= Republicans tell them "see? We told you government can't do anything right!"

It's the "Grover Norquist Effect."

= See, we told you so. Now we have to privatize it.

One of our greatest freedoms is to be critical of our government. Given the deficit, it seems ludicrous to blame it on being "starved for operating funds". Even the best funded DOD is only at 70%. I suspect that Treasury lands at the bottom here because it includes the IRS. Interior gets nigher marks because we Americans love our national park system.

Some of the low marks have to due with the fact that Americans are angry, divided, and exhausted with the pandemic. Civil servants always have made excellent whipping boys.
