“I write to express my concerns regarding your performance as Inspector General,” Wyden wrote. “It is paramount that the Office of Inspector General cultivates and maintains a workplace free of harassment, intimidation, or retaliation.” ...

Definitely not holding my breath, but might this actually be the start of SOMETHING being done?!
It is also so very highly amusing that the IG created an ENTIRE BRAND-NEW COMPONENT and gave the AIG spot to one of the senior officials who exposed the CMP madness. Definitely shouldn't be viewed as hush money or bribery or anything like that. Nope.
Isn't that senior official mentioned by name in Senator Wyden's letter? Didn't Senator Wyden's letter state that senior official continues to disclose wrongdoing to his committee, even after that senior official was reinstated? Even after being terminated for prior disclosures! Everything that is "BRAND-NEW" is not always good. It could just be a cover so that the administration can continue to retaliate against that senior official and many others.
@12:31 I totally agree with you! I'm sorry if my "side" on the issue wasn't clear. It seems to me that the senior official was given this new position to try to silence her. I do not know if she has continued to have any adverse actions against her by the IG or others, but I found it amusing that she started her new position the same week in Oct 2022 that WaPo published the article that detailed her whistleblowing/firing situation. Talk about timing. If the IG thought she could keep her quiet with a new title and a new component, clearly, it didn't work out that way.
This IG and members of her staff have been found guilty of retaliation in two cases. They failed to report this to Congress. Now, CIGIE is allowing SSA OIG to host a 6 hour Whistleblower Forum for the entire IG community on September 13th. Talk about a chilling effect.
Just like CIGIE to turn a blind eye.
Who can fire her? I know Kijakazi can't.
Is she in office or working from home?
Joke y'all get offended so easy these days
