Here’s a reminder that a full Ways and Means Committee hearing with Commissioner Bisignano is coming up at 10:00 today. It’s supposed to be about Bisignano’s role at the IRS but I imagine that Social Security will come up. You can watch online.

I caught a small portion where he declined to answer anything about SSA, including declining to answer where, how, and who to the information on Americans was shared by DOGE. He also declined to say that SSA’s Union Contract would not be terminated, even though SSA wasn’t mentioned in the Executive Order last spring. Everyone in Congress and agency heads still don’t care that EOs are not law.
Just watched several minutes. Slurred speech. Seems to have some notable trouble keeping his train of thought. Is this really what what the American people want?
SSA was mentioned. "1-419. The following agencies or subdivisions of each Executive department listed in section 101 of title 5, United States Code, the Social Security Administration, and the Office of Personnel Management: (a) Office of the Chief Information Officer. (b) any other agency or subdivision that has information resources management duties as the agency or subdivision’s primary duty."
