Rule of Thumb: Never click a link, never take someones' word over the phone if they call you and demand money or personal info, even if the caller ID says who it is. I've been scammed once on youtube, luckily only $250. That was an impersonator scam of a channel I subscribe to (never leave youtube or related type of sites to go to a different platform to do any kind of business, always stay on the current platform). I no longer post or accept comments on that platform. ALWAYS verify with the company/agency/organization itself, especially if they have an obvious thick accent, or mispronounce common words. Alway better safe than sorry. Rarely will SSA call a claimant, they generally send letters. As do banks (I've never had my bank call me in 23 years). Best bet is to just let it go to voicemail and call the company/agency/organization back directly. If suspicious, even then, hang up and call another number for the company/agency/organization back for verification. Always, ALWAYS be suspicious regardless of what your caller ID says. If you have even an inkling of suspicion, call "them" directly. Scams are getting highly sophisticated by the day. Never give out personal info. Make THEM tell you who you are if you have concerns. If they can't tell you who YOU are. Hang up.
Kash Patel and Frankie B for the win! Even the libs gotta admit this was some great work. Now, back to Iran!
They had to lose $50 million before they were cut off? Sounds like a slowww Roll to justice.
If they can shut down the “Loan Department” I will be impressed. . .
Lib here. Having been involved in these types of investigations, I know with certainly that it's been going on for years. So, it started in a previous administration. Kash and Frankie get to take credit for others' work.
This. Any type of investigation that involves a foreign actor takes years.
What is bad is that the industry could stop these types of scams, but doesn't want to because they would be cutting off paying customers (even if they are scammers).
