What Ever Happened To Gordon Sherman?

I had recently posted a link to a news article about Social Security's new Regional Commissioner for the Atlanta region. That made me wonder what happened to one of his predecessors, Gordon Sherman. Sherman served as Atlanta Regional Commissioner for 23 years before retiring in 1999.

Sherman is now on the board of directors of One Georgia Bank. Their website indicates that he:
... is a principal of Lamon & Sherman Consulting, LLC, an investment and income replacement consulting firm and a director of Government Benefits and Information Services, Inc. Other capacities in which he presently serves include director of Lenbrook Foundation, Inc., a continuing care retirement community in Atlanta; director of the Auburn University Foundation; and a fellow in the National Academy of Public Administration.

OMG, he's a fellow at NAPA. Well, that's really not very surprising. NAPA picks people based on its perception of their exalted rank/status, not on the basis of any real accomplishments. Not to denigrate Gordo, really; he was an exquisite bureaucrat. He fits in NAPA really well.

Nonsense. He was a disgusted lecher.

Gordon was the ultimate bureaucrat. He filled his staff with mindless suckups. His main concern was political correctness. Priority on promotions was given to Blacks, women, and gays. Education and experience didn't mean squat! He also was a relentless skirt chaser. His wife resorted to traveling with him to keep his pants zipped. His successor, Paul D. Barnes, who was formerly his deputy, was a duplicate of Gordo - only in Black. I'm sure Jim Murray has spun in his grave many times over these two clowns!
