A Tennessee woman is claiming that she's the first in her state to be approved for Social Security disability benefits based upon Covid-19. Perhaps someone at the state Disability Determination Service told her?

I’m pretty sure SSA doesn’t have a “Covid” listing so I assume she was awarded for the conditions caused by the infection. So it’s really not a “Covid” allowance. Would need to see the listing codes to be sure but this seems a bit misleading.
Maybe she's the first person with covid as a primary impairment to be awarded in TN? Something like 1 in 7 people in TN have been diagnosed with covid, so I can't imagine she's the first person to have it as one of their alleged impairments who's been awarded, but maybe it's not their primary impairment. Like if covid put you in kidney failure you might have just had that as your primary impairment, or if you got a blood clot from it and had a stroke or amputation. Honestly what gets listed as the primary impairment is pretty random.
I have allowed at least six myself so I doubt she could have been the first in her state. Long ago they gave some list code to use in COVID cases ...not the same thing as a Listing or a diagnosis code ... But it does not show up on DCPS ...as far as workers comp goes it would be difficult to determine how it was contracted. She could even be the one infecting her coworker
