There's a place in the United States where the approval rate at the initial level is 61%?????

Because Kansans are good salt-of-the-earth people who only apply for benefits if they are truly disabled, while Missourians are wastrels and layabouts who try to scam the system?

A lot of SSA data at the State DDS level lacks context. SSA spreads workloads across State lines beyond just ESTs. Shared workloads don’t tend to include case types with likelihood of allowance (QDD/CAL/TERI/WOUNDED WARRIOR). As a result, the DDS receiving assistance tends to have a higher allowance rate while the DDS providing assistance has a higher denial rate. Processing times are misrepresented by this as well. DCPS will skew this even more. Don’t get me started on SSA directing the DDS’s to hold workloads for which decisions are ready….
