How is the COLA a fair assessment of our living conditions if it excludes food and energy?
@11:10 SSA uses the CPI-W as published by the BLS, which includes: food and beverages, housing, apparel, transportation, medical care, recreation, education and communication. Utilities cost is included within housing according to the BLS.
The general criticism of SSA using the CPI-W for disabled folks is disabled individuals experience different costs than working folks, such as: medical (way more), transportation (less), apparel (a little less), and recreation (less).
